(SeeNews) – Mar 21, 2012 – Green energy company Euro Hydro Power (Asia) Holdings Inc is ready to start a pre-feasibility study for a proposed 5-MW hydropower plant (HPP) in the province of South Cotabato, Philippines, local news portal MindaNews reported on Tuesday.

The company has applied for permission for the study from the municipal government of Lake Sebu, the website said, citing South Cotabato I Electric Cooperative’s general manager Santiago Tudio. The planned 5-MW project could produce enough power to supply the Lake Sebu and Surallah towns, Tudio said.

The cooperative had earlier teamed up with the company to build a 5-MW hydropower plant in Lake Sebu, according to the website.

Euro Hydro is developing seven hydropower projects of 1 MW each in Mindanao, the website added.
